SOP Formulated to Combat Possibility of Biological Attacks : Minister Kiran Rijiju

The government of India Wednesday told Rajya Sabha that it is aware of the possibility of biological attacks in the country and the standard operating procedures have been formulated to effectively respond to it.

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju in a written reply however, said, there is no specific inputs regarding the threat of biological attack are available with his Ministry.

Rijiju said, ten battalions of the National Disaster Response Force have been specifically trained to deal with any such crisis situation.

The Minister said, Health Ministry, being the nodal Ministry for biological disaster, also have a crisis management plan for biological disasters which has been updated, last month and shared with the concerned stakeholders.
