Modi to begin Bengal poll campaign from Kharagpur on Mar 27

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin poll campaign in West Bengal from Kharagpur on March 27, party sources here toady said.

Modi will attend at least seven rallies in three phases, state BJP leadership said.

Top BJP leaders, including party president Amit Shah, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley and Smriti Irani besides chief ministers of some BJP-ruled states will also campaign in the poll-bound state, a senior state party leader here said.

West Bengal will witness six phases of election. In the first phase, voting will take place on April 4 and April 11 as the seats fall under the Naxal affected areas. Voting in second phase will take place on April 17, third phase on April 21, fourth phase onApril 25, fifth phase on April 30 and sixth phase on May 5
Counting will be taken up on May 19.
