Mah Govt pays Rs 1,879.56 cr grant to 32.54 lakh farmers of Marathwada

Maharashtra government has paid total Rs 1,879.56 crore as a grant to 32.54 lakh farmers from eight districts of the Marathwada region for incurring heavy losses during the last Kharif season.

The district-wise amount and the number of farmers (in bracket) benefited is as such: Nanded Rs 314.67 crore (5.77 lakh), Aurangabad Rs 182.70 crore (4.29 lakh), Parbhani Rs 185.75 crore (3.92 lakh), Hingoli Rs 183.87 crore (2.46 lakh), Beed Rs 235.50 crore (5.24 lakh), Latur Rs 303.13 crore (3.84 lakh) and Osmanabad Rs 252.92 crore (3.66 lakh). Out of the sanctioned amount, 99.29 per cent has been distributed to the farmers, according to an official statement here.
