Sensex Surges Over 400 Pointes In Afternoon Trade

After a strong opening, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained considerably more ground, and had spurted 401 points, to 29,147, in afternoon trade, after the presentation of the Economic Survey.

Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had added 181 points. Yesterday, the Sensex had plunged 261 points. Similarly, the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange had jumped 138 points, to 8,822 a short while ago.
