Rajnath Singh lauds BJP-PDP Coalition Government, silent on Controversial Remark of CM Sayeed

Union of Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday applauded the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), adding that this is the first time that his party has been instrumental in forming the government in J-K.
I believe whatever problems the J-K people are facing, this government will be able to solve them,” said Rajnath Singh.
He added that the two political parties have formed a government in J-K based on the Common Minimum Program.
Singh however refused to react on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s controversial statement regarding separatists ‘allowing’ the J-K assembly elections to take place peacefully.
“I don’t want to give any reaction on his statement,” said Rajnath Singh.
Earlier in the day, Sayeed stoked a controversy by stating that the Hurriyat, Pakistan and militants had allowed a conducive atmosphere for the recently held assembly polls in the state.

Meanwhile, the BJP leader Srikant Sharma said that Election Commission, Army and citizens played an important role in the peaceful conduct of elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP leader’s comments came following Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s statement that Hurriyat, terrorists and people across the border extended their support in conducting assembly polls in the state.
