PM’s reference to Gilgit , Baluchistan and PoK reflects failure of NDA’s policy towards Pak: Cong

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reference to Gilgit , Baluchistan and PoK in his Independence Day speech reflects a failure of the NDA Government’s policy towards Pakistan, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said today.
Reacting to the PM’s speech, Tewari, in a series of tweets, said that PM’s reference to Gilgit , Baluchistan and PoK in his speech reflects a failure of the Narendra Modi led Government’s policy towards the neighbouring country.”Reference to Gilgit, Baluchistan and PoK by PM Modi from Red Fort is the most explicit acknowledgement that the BJP Government’s Pakistan policy lies in shambles,” Tewari said in tweet.
Terming the reference to Gilgit, Baluchistan and PoK as an example of “Jingoism from Red Fort for domestic consumption”, Tewari said,”Did the PM raise Gilgit, Baluchistan & PoK in Lahore? Did Sushma &Rajnath raise it in Islamabad?Jingoism from Red Fort for domestic consumption.”
In this context, he said that the BJP when in Opposition, opposed when the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sought to put Baluchistan on the table at Sharm-el Sheikh-09. ”When PM SINGH sought to put Baluchistan on the table at Sharm-el Sheikh-09 BJP jumped down his throat & now in -16 PM MODI walks the same path,”he tweeted.
He also sought to know if the Government would make efforts for liberation of an Indian serving Naval officer who is a Pakistani Prisoner in Baluchistan?”INDIAN retired/serving Naval officer is Pakistani Prisoner in Baluchistan? Govt has any plans getting him liberated?Would he be like #52POW’s,;;he said.
Congress leader and spokesperson Salman Khushid expressed disappointment over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the Nation .
Talking to a news channel, the senior Congress leader said,”I am deeply disappointed with the Prime Minister’s speech.” Khurshid said that the address by the PM seemed more like an election speech.”Today, the PM gave an election speech. On this occasion, he needed to rise above party politics,” Khurshid said.
