Child Help Desks To Be Set Up At All Railway Stations In Two Years : Maneka

Government will set up child help desk at railway stations for the care and protection of children who ran away from the homes.
Speaking on the occasion of 8th foundation day of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi said Thursday , initially the centres will be set up at 20 railway stations. The facility will be extended across the country in the next two years, she said..
Mrs Gandhi said, an MoU has been signed with the Railways and several NGOs in this regard. The Minister said, every railway station master has been given responsibility to maintain a register of the rescued children.
