PM Appeals Law Makers In R S To Support Land Bill, Development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday appealed to Rajya Sabha members to support the Land Acquisition Bill brought by his government.
He urged the Rajya Sabha Members irrespective of party line to not to put obstacles in the path of the development.
Inaugurating the power plants at Dongalia village in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister said that the law brought by the then UPA government was not practical.
He reiterated that his government is not anti-farmer and said that the land is needed for development.
Admitting that his government has not majority in the Rajya Sabha, the Prime Minister appealed the people to raise their voice in favour of the new Bill, as land is needed for roads, hospitals, irrigation projects and other developmental schemes.
