Swine Flu In India : Death Toll 1239 , as Positive Cases Touch 23,000

Forty-one more deaths have taken the nationwide toll of swine flu to 1,239 while more than 23,000 cases of the disease have been reported in the country.

The state-wide data shows that Gujarat is the worst affected state with more than 300 casualties. According to Health Ministry, more than 5 thousand people have come down with swine flu in Gujarat.

The death toll in Delhi is 10 with the number of persons affected by swine flu is standing at 3,300.

In Uttar Pradesh, forty one new cases of swine flu surfaced Friday . Out of the 41 new cases, 37 have been reported from Lucknow and one each from Bareilly, Unnao, Jaunpur and Shahjahanpur districts.

A total of 808 patients have tested positive. The deadly virus has affected 25 districts.

The total number of people affected by H1N1 virus has reached 808 in the State. Sixteen people have died so far due to Swine Flu this year.
