Bandh observed in protest against RSS-BJP worker’s murder

Business establishments in the busycommercial street in Shivjinagar area downed their shutters today inresponse to a bandh call given in protest against the brutual murder ofRSS and BJP worker Rudresh.

Rudresh, who was returning after attending RSS function washacked to death by two bike borne miscreants yesterday sendingshock waves in the City.

BJP and RSS workers took out protest march demanding the Policeto immediately arrest the culprits and condemning the day lightbrutual murder.

Additional Commissioner of Police (East) P Harishekharan said more than 500 policemen including a company of RAF was deployed under four police station limits coming under Cantonment area in the city.

The situation was peaceful and under control. The police had some clues about the assailants and they would be arrested soon, he said.

Former Minister and BJP leader Katta Subramanya Naidu,condemning the incident, said that “I had been MLA from theShivajinagar area for 10 years and I know Rudresh very well and henever fought with anyone. Police should nab the culpritswithout attempting to give old enmity or other reason for the murder.”

Senior BJP leader and former Minister Suresh Kumar said that “Itis highly condemnable that such a henious crime taken place near aPolice Station that too in the daylight.

Former Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok, Lok Sabha Members ShobhaKharandlje, P C Mohan among hundreds of workers participated in theprotest march taken out in the busy streets.

Police clamped Prohibitory orders under section 144 as a precautionary measure in the four police station limits. Elaborate bandobust put in place by deploying sufficient force.

Home Minister G Parameshwara, condemning the murder, said thatfive teams were formed to nab the culprits and measures were takento ensure safety.
