India protests the manner in which its diplomats’ names put in public domain in Pak

India Thursday strongly protested the manner in which names of eight Indian diplomats were put in public domain in Pakistan risking their security.

Replying to a media query in New Delhi, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, the issue of returning of the diplomats from Islamabad is a procedural issue and they have not yet been recalled.

Swarup said, the decision taken on Indian officials in Islamabad will be based on their security.

The spokesman noted that the Indian officials were working in the fields of promoting people-to-people and trade and economic contacts between the two countries and they have been falsely implicated.

Swarup said, Pakistan’s false allegations against them have the potential to adversely affect the activities of the High Commission.

He also termed the allegations against Indian officials as baseless saying these are crude attempts to target the officials.
