J&K: 2 Army Jawans martyred in Pak firing along LoC

In Jammu and Kashmir, two Army Jawans’ were martyred while five others, including a woman, were injured as Pakistani forces resorted to heavy firing and shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch district Sunday.

The Defence sources told AIR that the Pakistani forces this morning started unprovoked shelling and firing targeting posts and civilian areas in Krishna Ghati and Sabzian sectors.

They said, the Indian forces retaliated the firing and heavy exchanges of gunfire continued throughout the day. At some places firing is still on.

Meanwhile, Army has claimed to foil two major infiltration bids by militants’ in Krishnaghati sector today.

Our correspondent reports that under the firing cover Pakistani forces were making attempts to push infiltrators to Indian side.

Army has been giving befitting reply to Pakistani firing and there are reports that serious damages have been caused to some of the posts of Pakistan from where the firing was initiated.

The martyred Army Jawans’ are Gurusevak Singh of 22 Punjab and Rajinder Tupara of 22 Maratha, while the injured include, a BSF officer, two army men, a lady SPO and a woman.
