Dravid appointed as Brand Ambassador for World Cup Tournament

Former Indian Cricket Captain Rahul Dravidwas appointed as Brand Ambassador for the second T20 World Cup Cricket forthe Blind 2017 by Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI)which is hosting the event in January and February 2017.

Announcing the appointment here today, CABI President MahanteshG K said, “We are extremely delighted to announce that a legendarycricketer like Rahul Dravid is joining hands with us in our endeavorto spread the cause of cricket for the blind. His presence andencouragement will motivate thousands of youths to pursue the sport. We express our deep gratitude and are highly indebted to RahulDravid for his participation and generosity. It is a matter of greatpride and honor to have him on board as a supporter and promoter ofcricket for the blind.”

Rahul Dravid said “It is deeply gratifying to be able to do mybit to support the cause of cricket for the blind, there is abundantcricketing talent in them and they are a great inspiration,reminding us that real vision lies inside of us and nothing in theworld can blind it. Growth of Cricket for the Blind in India and inthe world will encourage people with special needs to trust in theirinner abilities and unleash their true potential,” he said.

The tournament will be played from January 28 to February 12. While inauguration will be held at New Delhi, the finals will beheld in Bengaluru.
In all teams from 10 Countries – India, Australia, Bangladesh,England, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka andWest Indies will compete for the top honour.

The tournament will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis inmultiple cities across India.
Rahul Dravid launched CABI’s ‘Support Blind Cricket by buying aCricket Ball’ campaign on the occasion.
