ICC World Cup : S.Africa crushes UAE by 146 runs

In a one sided match UAE lost to South Africa by 146 run in Wellington Thursday. This was the last match for UAE in the Pool –B match in this edition of ICC World Cup .

South Africa simply outplayed UAE in all departments of the game. AB de Villiers was chosen as the Payer of the Match. AB de Villiers had scored magnificent 99 and bagged two wickets.

Chasing a huge target of 342 runs , UAE continued to lose wickets and were all out for 195 in the 47.3 over. Swapnil Patil was the top Scorer for UAE with 57 runs followed by Shaiman Anwar with 39.

For South Africa Mornel Morkel, de Villiers and Vernon Philander scalped two wickets each .

South Africa put up huge 341 runs in their stipulated 50 overs with loss of six wickets.

AB de Viliers who carried an superb innings to help South Africa to amass huge score was unfortunate as he fell one run short of a ton against UAE. He fell to Kamran Shazad at 99 .

Farahaan Behardien ‘s quick knock of 64 off 31 balls was another highlight of the S.Africa innings.
Forf UAE, Javed was the highest wicket taker 3 for 63 .

UAE won the toss and elected to field first against South Africa in their final Pool-B match of the Cricket World Cup.

South Africa have already made it to the quarterfinals, and today’s victory has l consolidated their position at the second spot with 8 points behind Team India in Pool-B. The Proteas have won 4 of their 6 games.

UAE, on the other hand, have lost all of their 5 matches played uptil now, and are out of the contention of a knock-out stage berth.
