Three-Day Indian Panorama Film Festival Inaugurated In Shillong

The third edition of Indian Panorama Film Festival started in Shillong Thursday . A host of film personalities were present at the inaugural ceremony.

The three-day film festival will include interactive session and panel discussions with eminent film makers.

Meghalaya Chief Minster Dr. Mukul Sangma said that the Film Festival provides a unique platform for the younger generation to witness the best of Indian cinema.

Addressing the gathering, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Bimal Julka said that North East India is gating a major focus in the efforts of the ministry to promote regional cinema through Indian Panorama Film festival.

Calling for suggestions from film makers of Meghalaya to further improve the contents of Indian Panorama Film Festival, Julka said that films of North East India, with its rich cultural diversity contribute significantly to regional cinema promotion.

A total of 12 award winning films will be screened in next two -three days of the Indian Panorama Film Festival including nine feature film and three non feature films in nine languages. The three day- long film festival will include interactive session and panel discussions with eminent film makers.
