CM Sayeed Seeks Cooperation Of Army ,Police To Ensure Peace In J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today sought cooperation from the Army, police and the civil administration in creating a peaceful environment to enable the new Government to implement its agenda of good governance and development brought in for the people of the State.

Chairing the first meeting of the Unified Headquarters after assuming charge in Jammu Thursday , all the issues related to the prevailing security and law-and-order situation were discussed.

J&K Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, was also present at the meeting. Top civil and military officers also attended the meeting. The top brass of the Army, Police and the Civil Administration.

The Chief Minister emphasised the need to adopt a humane approach while dealing with law-and-order situations and exercising zero tolerance towards violations of human rights.

Terming the formation of the new Government as a historic opportunity to usher in a new era for sustained peace and equitable development, the Chief Minister said that the new dispensation will give its people an honest and accountable Government and implement its agenda of the alliance.

On the issue of firing in border areas from across the International Border and LoC, the Chief Minister called for enhanced vigil and asked the administration to provide shelter and all basic facilities to the people displaced at the time of firing.

In his address, the J&K Deputy Chief Minister said the new PDP-BJP Government will focus on economic and social issues confronting the State for which a peaceful environment has to be put in place.
