Sasi slams ‘ungrateful’ OPS, ‘reveals, why she wants to become CM’
13 February, Chennai
Slamming caretaker Chief Minister O Panneerselvamas being ‘ungrateful’ and trying to divide the AIADMK and rule the state, Party General Secretary V K Sasikala today ‘revealed’ that she decided to become CM after he started conniving with the DMK, while promising to ensure the continuance of the AIADMK regime formed by Amma even by sacrificing her life.
Stating that it was she who had made him the CM immediately after the death of Jayalalithaa, Ms Sasikala, talking to reporters at the Poes Garden residence here, said when DMK leader Duraimurugan showered praise on him in the Assembly, Mr Panneerselvam did not counter it or react to it.
”Had Panneerselvam countered his remarks, I would have allowed him to continue as the CM”, she added.
”Since some of the Ministers were dissatisfied with it and raised doubts and felt that he seems to be conniving with the DMK, I wanted to put an end to it, and decided to step in and become CM, as I wanted the AIADMK government formed by Amma should continue”.
”I have no intentions to become CM. If I had such intentions, I would have become CM immediately after the death of Jayalalithaa”, she added. ”It was I who convinced OPS to take over as CM immediately after Jaya’s death, but he and five other Ministers wanted me to take over…but I refused”, she pointed out.
She told them that ”for me, more than anything, ‘Akka’ (elder sister as she addresses Jaya) is important. I wanted to stay near her body, not to leave even an inch”.
