‘I am still ‘owner’ of SP : Mulayam

Refusing to speak directly against his son and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, party Patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav today said that though the party has gone to his son but the ownership is still with him.
“I still have the khasra (ownership) of the Samajwadi Party, though the Khatauni (tiller) has gone to someone else,” Mulayam said while addressing a public meeting in support of his brother Shivpal Singh Yadav, who is contesting from the Jaswantnagar Assembly seat in Etawah district.Further attacking his son without even his name once, the SP leader said that party has not become old but it is top young.” Shivpal is more closer to the youth then any other leader of the party,” he claimed.
The public meeting held at the Hindu College in the heart of the Jaswantnagar mufassil town, on the National Highway -2, Netaji said that this Assembly elections in UP is very crucial for the country.” I appeal you all to support Shivpal so that he can win the seat by record votes,” he said.
Shivpal is four time MLA from Jaswantnagar seat and last time in 2012 he won by a margin of over 1.33-lakh votes. Earlier this Assembly seat was represented by Mulayam before he shifted to the Lok Sabha.However during his 45 minutes speech, Mulayam was bit emotional that he could not become Prime Minister of the country due to opposition by one of his political friends.”Even after Jyoti Basu took my name for the PM but a friend of mine opposed and I could not become the PM,” he said.
During his meeting, Mulayam did not seek support of any other SP candidates except for Shivpal even though rebel SP candidate Ashish Rajput, who is contesting on the Lok Dal ticket from Etawah City Assembly seat, was present in the meeting seeking blessings from the SP patron.
Other rebel SP leaders opposed to Akhilesh Yadav, sitting SP MLA Raghuraj Singh Shakya and Sukhdevi Verma and Ram Sevek Yadav were also present in the meeting.Shivpal Singh Yadav in his speech cautioned the youths that they have to be prepared for another round of struggle after the elections.
“I am a representative of Netaji and will not leave my brother at any cost,” he announced.He said, “we have to respect Netaji and give him back his honour.”The former UP Minister, who was sacked by his nephew Akhilesh, said that when he was minister his departments worked efficiently and was among the best in the state.
Demanding that a law should be made so that a boy and girl of every family should be given job gurauntee, he said that more work would be done in future.Jaswantnagar goes to poll in the third phase of elections on February 19.
