No U-turn on demonetisation : Nitish

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today dismissedspeculations about U-turn on his support to demonetisation saying hehad also demanded action against all forms of ‘benami property’ toachieve goal of wiping out black money and said the stand stillremains unchanged.

Kumar after “Lok Samvad” programme organised to seek suggestionfrom the people, told the media here that there was no change inhis stand on demonetisation launch by the Modi government on November 8 last year.

“While extending support to demonetisation, I had also demandedaction against benami property as huge chunk of black money wasstashed in the form of real estates, gold, diamond and jewellery”,chief minister said, adding that no step had been taken by the Modi government in this direction so far.

Kumar said he had also demanded from the Centre to comeout with detailed report on success of demonetisation and share withthe people about how much of the total demonetised notes depositedin banks, was black money.
