RJD-JD(U) row over elevation of Tejaswi Yadav

The ruling grand alliance in Bihar today plunged into a fresh bout of uncertainty when a senior RJD minister and a party MLA demanded elevation of deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav to the post of CM by replacing the present incumbent and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar.

State Disaster Management minister and senior RJD leader Chandrashekhar told newspersons here that Tejaswi, the youngest son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, possessed all qualities to hold the top post fuelling speculation whether all was well in the grand alliance.

He said that Tejaswi, if elevated to the post of CM, would get experience on how to rule a state. Not to be left behind, RJD MLA and former minister Surendra Yadav said the deputy chiefminister should head the government recalling how the baton was passed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

He said the RJD scion was the ‘right’ claimant to the post of chief minister.
