ICC World Cup : Muhamudullah hit Century as Bangladesh Posts 7/ 288 In 50 Overs Against New Zealand

Batting First Bangladesh made a modest 288 runs losing seven wickets in the stipulated 50 overs against New Zealand on Friday in the Pool A match in ICC World Cup at Hamilton. The highlight of the innings was Mahmudullah’s not out 128 off 123 balls .

After losing the toss Bangladesh was asked to bat first and lose early 3 wickets within 30 overs . However after losing wicket of Soumya sarkar at 51 , Mahmudullah carried the innings with his steady and stylish batting to help the team to reach 287. Sabir Rahaman also made 40 runs.

For New Zealand Trent Boult, Corey Anderson annd Grant Elliott took two wickets each while Daniel Vettori bagged lone wicket of Sarkar.

Both the teams have advanced for the quarter finals. A win or a loss New Zealand will finish at the top of Pool A.

However, they will try to continue their unbeaten form in the tournament. On the other hand Bangladesh after routing England home in a crunch game will look to finish higher on Pool standings.
