No Proposal To Privatise BSNL, MTNL : Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad

Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad clarified that there is no proposal to privatise public sector telecom giants BSNL and MTNL.

During the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha Friday , Ravi Shankar Prasad said the government is making all-out efforts to make them financially sound.

Pointing out that the public sector is important for healthy completion, the Minister said the mobile rates in India are among the lowest in the world.

Stating that the entire mobile sector is growing, the Minister said the BSNL and the MTNL have taken up expansion plans.
