The Bar Council of India has called a nation wide strike on March 16 against the murder of a lawyer on Wednesday last in Allahabad..
According to Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Bar Association Abdul Razzaque, the Bar Council of India has called a nation-wide strike on March 16 and an appeal has also been made to the advocates to maintain peace during the strike.
Razzaque alleged that the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and the workers under him helped accused Sub-Inspector Shailendra Singh to flee from the spot.
He also said instead of arresting him, the police helped him to escape as he ran inside the SSP office.
Meanwhile, outraged lawyers in Allahabad have continued their proteston the issue of murder of their colleague even after the beefed up security.
A lawyer Nabi Ahmad was killed by a Sub-Inspector Shailendra Singh on Wednesday following a heated wordily feud and after that the lawyers went berserk as they torched several vehicles, ransacked a hotel, vandalised a canteenand created ruckus in Allahabad. Lawyers in the entire state have also joined the protest.
