Nadda Rules Out Mutation Of Swine Flu Virus

Union Health Minister J P Nadda Tuesday ruled out any mutation of the swine flu virus as reported in somesections of the media.

Stating that virus had not mutated as had been feared, he told the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour that the NationalInstitute of Virology (NIV), Pune was keeping a constant vigil on the spread of the swine flu.

However, he said health experts did not advocate vaccination as a public health strategy against the disease at this juncture. \The vaccination is effective only two to three weeks afterbeing injected,he told the House.
