Bihar continues to maintain its growth momentum: Nitish

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Wednesday said Bihar continued to its growth momentum due to its focus on implementation of development schemes in a ‘decentralised’ manner.
Expressing his happiness over the state’s economic growth rate and per capita income touching double digit during the last fiscal, Kumar held separate meetings with state Ministers of newly formed the NDA government and Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments to formulate strategy for maintaining the growth momentum.
In his meeting with Ministers and senior officers, Kumar said besides emphasis on maintaining law and order situation, they should give special focus on implementation of the state government’s seven point resolve and also work in tandem with their counterparts in the Centre.
CM said the state’s growth rate was pegged at 14.8 per cent at current price and 10.32 per cent at constant price during 2016-17. He said the per capita income had registered a growth of 13.15 per cent at current price and it was ranked second in term of growth in per capita income in the country.
Kumar said the availability of construction materials had increased significantly after the state government started giving focus on construction of school buildings in the semi-urban areas. He said the progress of Student Credit Card scheme would be reviewed to know how many students really benefited from the scheme.
