West Bengal Govt. Orders CBI probe Into Ranghat Non Gang Rape Case

The West Bengal Government Wednesday ordered a CBI probe over the gang-rape of a nun in Ranaghat in Nadia District. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the decision in a Facebook post.
The Chief Minister said that considering the seriousness and sensitivity of the case, she has decided to entrust the case to CBI. Ms. Banerjee said that her government will provide all necessary co-operation and assistance to CBI in investigating the case.
Meanwhile, the police has detained another two persons in the incident. With this, the total number of detained persons has gone up to 17 . However, no arrests have been made so far.
