Center Is Ready for CBI Probe Into Mysterious Death of IAS Officer Ravi :Rajnath

The Union Government Thursday said that it is ready for a CBI probe into the mysterious death of IAS officer D K Ravi.

Replying to a question during the Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Home minister Rajnath Singh said he has spoken to the Karnataka Chief minister Mr Siddaramaiah on the issue.

Singh said that the Chief Minister apprised him that the state government is gathering more details in connection with the death.

The Home minister said that the state government will send details within two days to the Centre. Singh said if the state government recommends a CBI probe, then the Centre has no hesitation in doing that.

Meanwhile, BJP MPs from Karnataka held a protest in Parliament House today, demanding a CBI probe into the death of IAS officer D K Ravi. Party MP B S Yeddyurppa told reporters that the state government must immediately order a CBI inquiry, without waiting for Criminal Investigation Department report. The MPs also demanded action against land mafias in the state.

Reacting to the protest, Congress leader B K Hariprasad urged the BJP not to politicize the matter. He reiterated that the state government is not opposed to CBI inquiry.
