India register 109 Runs Victory Over Bangladesh, Storm Into WC Semifinal

India registered a magnificent win over Bangladesh by 109 runs in the second Quarter Final of the ICC World Cup -2015 at Melbourne Thursday.

Rohit Shama,who cracked a 137 run was adjudged Player of the Match.

India bundled out Bangladesh at 193 in 45th over. India’s all round performance was the highlight of the match. .

For India Umesh Yadav took 4 wickets followed by Mahammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja bagging two wickets each.

Bangladesh’ attempt to repeat the 2007 World Cup feat was failed this time..

Bangladesh batsmen fell to the tight bowling of Indian bowers particularly the pacer very cheaply. Only nasir Hossain could score highest run of 35 followed by Sabbir Rahman 30 and soumya sarkar 29..

The 303 target was proved to be difficult for Bangladesh as no side has scored 300 while batting second at the Melbourne.

Indian innings was constructed around the sublime century of Rohit Sharma. He scored 137 runs and played with ease and became the second Indian to score a century in the knock-out phase

.First, Rohit stitched a useful partnership with Shikhar Dhawan for the first wicket, Bangladesh’s bowlers bowled with diligence and discipline to pull the batting side back for a while.

After Shakib provided the crucial breakthrough by taking the wicket of Dhawan, it was Rubel, who bowled an inspired spell and was rewarded for his efforts with the wicket of Virat Kohli. But in the midst Rohit stood tall and made 137.
