Afghan’s deputy provincial governor abducted in Pakistan

A deputy provincial governor of Afghanistan’s eastern Kunar province has been abducted by unidentified gunmen in Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

Afghan Consul General in Peshawar Moin Mrastyal said Saturday that Qazi Mohammad Nabi Ahmadi, the deputy governor of Kunar and a leader of Afghan warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hizb-i-Islami, was kidnapped from Peshawar’s Dabgari area on Friday.

No group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of Ahmadi who was in Peshawar for treatment of a medical ailment.
