Delhi Jal Board Suspends 3 Officials For Corruption In Meter Reading an Billing

Delhi Jal Board has suspended three officials in connection with their alleged involvement in irregularities and corruption in meter-reading and water bills.
The action was taken against them after an aggrieved consumer met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Janta Darbar and made a complaint in this regard.
The complainant alleged that the officers had demanded a bribe of six thousand rupees, when he contacted them after receiving the bill of a high amount.
After an examination, facts clearly pointed out malafide on the part of both, the Meter Readers and the role of the Meter Inspector was also found to be suspicious in the case.
