BI Arrests Income Tax Inspector For Accepting Bribe

Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI has arrested an Inspector of Income Tax Department, Delhi for demanding and accepting a bribe from the complainant.

According to the CBI, the accused was demanding 2.5 lakh rupees form the complainant for settling the Income Tax Assessment.

Later, the accused negotiated and demanded a bribe of ninety thousand rupees. The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed, while accepting the bribe.

The agency also conducted searches in office and residence of the accused and recovered incriminating documents.

The arrested person was produced before the Special Judge, CBI in New Delhi and remanded to Judicial Custody for 14 days.
