Zoomcar launches its operation in Bhubaneswar

Zoomcar, India’s first 100 Per cent self-drive car rental company, today launched its services in Bhubaneswar and plans to extend the operation in Cuttack soon.
Zoomcar Co-founder and CEO Greg Moran said the Zoomcar parking has been strategically chosen in the city with proximity to both the Airport and the Railway station.
Zoomcar will collaborate with local tourism board and would seek the help of the state government to provide better service to locals and travellers.
Moran said the company, founded in 2013 with headquarters at Bengaluru,has now spread its business to 27 cities of the country and has successfully achieved more than 30 lakh customers, over 10 lakh trips and has 3000 cars under its fleet in a span of 4 years.
He said the response in the cities of its operation was overwhelming and expected that the company would get similar response in Bhubaneswar. Bhubaneswar is a smart city and Zoomcar will largely focus on local population and students who contribute to around 75 per cent of the booking, he said adding that there is an enormous potential in the city with already2600 registered users.
One can book a vehicle on website www.zoomcar.com or the mobile application and zoom out. In the next phase, Zoomcar is all set to add Jharkhand and Bihar for the convenience of travellers. Moran said the company would also start a cycle sharing scheme in Bhubaneswar next year.
The service has already been started in Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai and got good response. Bhubaneswar city has good and wide roads and high potential for growth, he said adding that the company has planned to start with 200 cycles and later increase the number to around 5,000.
A customer could take a cycle from one point on rent for Rs 10 per half an hour journey and leave the cycle at the company’s cycle stand close to the point of his destination.
