Ruckus in Odisha Assembly,House adjourned for the day

The Odisha Assembly adjourned for the day without transacting much business in the wake of protest by both the Opposition and Treasury bench members on issues relating to beer plant, CBI entry and central negligence.
The house could function for four minutes in the pre launch session and ten minutes during the post lunch session due to the protest by the members.
Except laying of some reports by Finance Minister Shashi Bhushan Behera, the Odisha assembly could not transact any other business for the day Monday due to the uproar by both the treasury and Opposition members.
The house was adjourned thrice and finally for the day by Speaker P K Amat as the Congress members trooped into the well of the house shouted anti government slogan both during pre and post lunch session in support of their demand Due to the protest the Speaker P K Amat was forced to adjourn the house first at 1034hrs till 1500hrs .The house met after the adjournment at 1500 hours but again adjourned at 1511hrs till 1541 and finally for the day till tomorrow.
Noisy scenes witnessed from the beginning when house assembled for the day to take up the question hour as treasury bench members protested accusing the Centre of changing the funding pattern on post matric scholarships for SC students and not releasing fund for the purpose for last three years.
On the other hand Congress members sought a clarification about a news item on the entry of CBI team into the state secretariat.
The BJP members raised the felling of hundreds of trees at Balarampur in Dhenkanal district for the construction of a beer plant despite stiff opposition by the local peopleSoon the Assembly plunged into a chaotic situation and Speaker P K Amat first adjourned the house at 1034hrs till 1500hrs realizing that the business of the house could no, longer be conducted smoothly After the house was adjourned, the treasury bench members sat on a dharna in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside the assembly premises in protest against the changing the funding pattern and reducing the central assistance for scholarship for the SC students.BM
