3rd Round Of Talks Between Indian-Sri Lanka Fishermen Begin In Chennai

The third round of talks between the Associations of Indian and Sri Lankan fishermen began in Chennai Tuesday . Periodical use of deep sea fishing in traditional area and frequent attacks on fishermen figured in the talks.
The talks will continue today- Wednesday as well.
Representative of the Indian side Arulanandam said that the talks were satisfactory. He said that deep sea fishing rights for 83 days in the traditional fishing area was stressed upon.
Representative of the Sri Lankan Fishermen Association Sadhasivam said that seven issues, which were put forward by the Indian fishermen, will be taken up at the Council meeting to be held in the Northern province and a final decision would be reached in May.
