Popular Assamese Actor Indra Bania Passes Away

Rrenowned actor Indra Bania of Assam passed away last night in a hospital in Guwahati after prolonged illness.

He was born in Lakhimpur district. He won several awards and laurels including Special prize in Locarno International Film Festival for Assamese movie Halodhia Choraye Baodhan Khai. This movie also won national film award in Best Feature Film category.

His some other movies are Haladhar, Agnisthan, Daman, Kadambari among others. Mr Bania was also associated with All India Radio.

He lent his voice for popular radio programs. The film fraternities of the state along with civil society organizations have deeply mourned the death of Indra Bania.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with several organizations have condoled the death of the actor.
