Center approves estimated Rs.900 crore ring road project connecting Cuttack-Bhubaneswar

Odisha Works Secretary Nalini Kanta Pradhan Monday said that Union Government had approved state’s proposal to construct a 64 KM long ring road between Khorda and Manguli Chhak .
The four land ring road project in the twin city is estimated at Rs.900 crore and would help easing the traffic congestion and growing accidents, said Pradhan in the sidelines of the inauguration of the five day long Platinum jubilee session of Indian Roads Congress being held here.
He said that the state government would prepare Deetaailed Project Report and start the process of land acquisition for the quick implementation of the important road project after getting the formal decision of Government of India.
Inaugurating the Platinum Jubilee session of IRC , the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the road experts to find out ways for utilistion of industrial wastes such as fly ash , slag and plastics in road construction.
Stating that productive use of industrial waste can greatly contribute to the redudction of pollution in manufacturing sector, Panaik said ,”our technocrats in road communication can play a significant role in constructive disposal of industrial wealth”.
The state Rural Development Minister Badri Narayan Patra, Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati, IRC president, Sunil Bhowmik, and IRC Secretary General SS Nahar addressed the function.
However, the Union Road Transport Nitin Gadkari could not make it to the mega event.
