Fire Brigade Defuses Fire In 8th Floor of New West Bengal Secretariat

In Kolkata, Fire broke out at West Bengal New Secretariat building in Kolkata Friday morning.

According to fire brigade sources, the fire broke out at the 8th floor of the building where state Panchayat Minister. Subrato Mukherjee’s office is situated. Twenty fire tenders were pressed into services to bring the fire under control.

The 13th storeyed new Secretariat building housed different government departments and some ministers’ office. Employees working in the secretariat have been evacuated.

The State Fire Minister Javed Khan, City Mayor Shovan Chatterjee visited the spot to take stock of the situation. The cause of the fire and extent of damage are yet to be ascertained.
