MH Govt. Decides To Waive Toll On Private Vehicles , State Transport Buses From May 31

In a major relief for motorists and public transport users, Maharashtra government has decided to waive off toll on private vehicles including car, jeep and state transport buses on 53 toll projects in the state from midnight of 31st May, 2015.

Of these, the PWD oversees 27 toll nakas, while 26 are controlled by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Friday made a formal announcement in this regard on the last day of the ongoing budget session of Maharashtra legislature.

The Chief Minister said that some positive announcement regarding Kolhapur City toll will be made by 31st May, 2015 while decision on waiving toll at the Mumbai’s five entry points and Mumbai-Pune express way will be made by 31st July, 2015.

The Chief Minister also announced that 12 toll nakas across the state will be closed down permanently from the midnight of 31st May.
