IPL : Kings XI Punjab Register First Win , Beat Mumbai Indians By 3 Wickets

In the IPL Twenty20 match, Harbhajan Singh’s breezy knock of 61 off 24 balls and marvellous partnership with Jagadeessha Suchith could not save Mumbai Indians from consecutive second defeat Sunda at Mumbai. Kings XI Punjab Friday defeated Mumbai Indians by three wickets.
Punjab Captain George Bailey was the Man of the Match for his useful knock of 61.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl. Kings XI Punjab however scored 177 for five wickets in 20 overs . Bailey was the top scorer of 61 off 32 balls followed by Virendra Shewag 36 and Murali Vijay 35.
For Mumbai Indians Harbhajan and Lasitha Malinga took two wickets each.
However chasing target of 178 set by Kings XI Punjab XI, Mumbai Indians crumbled with losing early wickets starting with Captain Rohit Sharma who was out LBW off Sandeep Sharma without opening account in the first over .
Though Mumbai Indian lost six wickets for 59 in 13.4 overs , the Harbhajan and Jagadeesha created a hope of winning the match . Both batsmen created a fear of losing the match in Punjab team. But the match ended a sad note for Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians scored 159 for 7 in 20 overs.
Axar Patel , Mitchell Johnson and Anureete Singh took two wickets each for Punjab.
