Political activities pick up pace in Bihar for government formation

In Bihar, political activities have intensified for the formation of a new Government. In his first press conference after NDA’s victory in Bihar polls, JD( U) President Nitish Kumar said, people have given the mandate to the NDA and it will form government in the state.
Talking to reporters in Patna this evening, he said it is not decided yet when the oath ceremony will take place, whether after Diwali or Chhath. Mr Kumar further said that members of all four parties- JD ( U), BJP, Hindustani Awam Morcha and Vikassheel Insaan Party will meet in Patna tomorrow to discuss about the NDA leader. He said, every aspect of formation of government will be discussed in this meeting.
Earlier this afternoon, Mr Kumar held a meeting with the party’s new legislators at the party office in Patna. Hindustani Awaam Morcha ( HAM) Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi today met Nitish Kumar along with his four newly elected members. Mr. Manjhi has given a letter of support to Mr Kumar. Later talking to reporters, Mr. Manjhi said, being a former Chief Minister he will not be a member in the new Cabinet. Vikassheel Insaan Party ( VIP) Chief Mukesh Sahni also met Mr Kumar. VIP and HAM got four seats each in the Assembly elections.
RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav was today elected as leader of Grand Alliance legislature party. This decision was taken in the meeting of legislators of RJD, Congress and Left parties. Meeting of Party legislators of RJD and left parties was held at the residence of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi in Patna to analyse their performance in Assembly polls. The CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharyya held Congress responsible for debacle of Grand Alliance in Assembly elections. The Congress has also convened party legislators’ meetings at party headquarters in Patna. Meanwhile, party’s senior leader Tariq Anwar has called for change in state party leadership in Bihar.
Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer H R Srinivasa submitted a list of newly elected 243 members of Assembly to Governor Phagu Chauhan. The tenure of Bihar Assembly is till 29th of this month.
