Hawkes’s Bay Cup : India Women’s Hockey Team Beat Japan 3-2 To Finish Seventh

The Indian women’s hockey sail past Japan 3-2 to finish seventh in the Hawkes’s Bay Cup in New Zealand Sunday .

Earlier, India thrashed Japan to win the bronze at the 2014 Asian Games.

Japan displayed the good game and led 1-0 in first quarter.In the second quarter, they doubled their lead to put pressure on India. India soon counter attacked and in the 28th minute, they found success as Sushila Pukhrambam slammed the ball past the goalie.

In last fifteen minutes, Deepika levelled the score and slammed one more goal to seal the victory against Japan.
