New Born To Get Aadhaar Linked Birth Certificate In Haryana From Today

In Haryana, all babies born from today, will be concurrently Aadhaar-enrolled and their Aadhaar linked birth certificate will be issued within seven days.

Giving the information yesterday in Chandigarh, a state government spokesman said that this measure, designed at the behest of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal, will not only help monitor delivery of all welfare and health-related benefits to an infant but will also help in tracking the child from birth to immunization to school admission. Besides, it will seek to serve as a data-base of children for timely and assured delivery of services.

He said that state government, inspired by the success of the pilot project launched at Tigaon Primary Health Centre in Faridabad district in February-March in coordination with the NITI Ayog and UIDAI, where more than 3,500 children were Aadhaar-enrolled, is going to launch a state-wide programme from today, Friday .

Different data bases like Birth and Death Information System (BDIMS), Mother Child Tracking System (MCTS) and Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) can be integrated with and woven into the common thread ‘Aadhaar’ as a key parameter for maintaining uniqueness.

The biometrics of the child would be captured after attaining the age of five years. It can be done at any Aadhaar enrollment centre in the state
