PM Modi Inaugurates Modernised IISCO Steel Plant At Burnpur

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the modernised and expanded part of the IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur near Asansol in West Bengal. He went around the huge factory and different departments of the plant. The Prime Minister dedicated the newly modernised plant, built at a cost of 16,840 crore rupees to the nation.

The local Member of Parliament and Union Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriya and the West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamta Banerjee were with the Prime Minister as he reviewed the working of the IISCO Steel Plant.

Later addressing a public meeting at the Polo ground near Asansol . Modi said that there is no substitute to the joint efforts that can be made by the Centre and the States for better development of India. Modi said that for far too long we have indulged in politics over Centre-States relationships and that the time has come to work jointly to remove all economic disparities in the country.

Modi said that his government will make concerted efforts to improve infrastructure in the country. He also said that all rating agencies in the world including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have rated India’s economic growth as one of the highest and amongst the fastest. He called upon the youths to be a part of the enormous economic growth. He said that the labourers’ sweat and toil will not go in vain.

In her speech the West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamta Banerjee said that the Centre and State will have to work hand in hand to improve the lives of teeming millions and enhance development, to which the Prime Minister agreed.

Among those present in the public meeting were the West Bengal Governor Kesharinath Tripathi, Narendra Singh Tomar, the Union Minister for Mines and Steel, the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Vishnu Dev Sai and the Union Minister of State for Urban Development and local Member of Parliament Babul Supriya.
