Tremor Across Odisha Makes People panic

Large parts of Odisha were shaken by tremors this afternoon, sending panic among the people still recovering from the shock of the devastating earthquake in Nepal.
The tremors were felt at 12.35 this afternoon. The tremors were felt for a few seconds at many places in the state, including the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam Rourkela and Sundargarh.

In the capital city of Bhubaneswar, people were seen rushing out of high-rise buildings and apartments into the open. However, no loss of life or property has been reported from any part of the state so far. This is the third earthquake in the state in the last one month.

The Bhubaneswar Met office has dubbed the earthquake as one of ‘great intensity’ with its epicentre at latitude 27.70 North and longitude 86.00 East in Nepal measured 7.3 on the Richter scale.
It said, the epicentre of the earthquake is at a distance of about 825 km from Bhubaneswar in the direction of North and hence no major damage occurred in Odisha.
