29 March, New Delhi
Aam Aadmi Party, AAP Sunday removed party’s internal Lokpal Admiral L Ramdas and set up a new Lokpal panel. The panel comprises former IPS officers N Dilip Kumar and Rakesh Sinha and educationist SP Verma.

At a National Executive meeting in New Delhi, the party also removed Prashant Bhushan as the chief of National Disciplinary Committee. The National Executive has decided to replace him by a three-member panel headed by Dinesh Waghela. The other members are Ashish Khetan and Pankaj Gupta.

Meanwhile, party’s National Executive member Naveen Jaihind clarified that Mr Ramdas was not removed from the Lokpal but his tenure had come to an end.

The Disciplinary Committee will now take action against Prashant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, Anand Kumar and Arvind Jha for their alleged involvement in anti-party activities. The four were sacked from the National Executive yesterday.

AAP leader Ashutosh has favoured that minimum discipline should be maintained in the party. He charged both Bhushan and Yadav with tarnishing the image of the party by leaking inside details in media.

Meanwhile, dissident leader Prashant Bhushan alleged that the party which came into existence after Jan Lokpal Movement is behaving in a low manner with party’s own Lokpal.

In the Executive Meet, party also announced a committee that will take care of agitation against the Land Acquisition Bill on 22nd of next month.

After the landmark victory in Delhi assembly elections, the party is buoyed to expand its base at national level. Keeping this in view, party has formed a committee headed by Sanjay Singh to look into expansion of AAP in other states.
