Anna Hazare sits on a protest at Jantar Mantar against NDA Govt.’s Ordinance on Land Acquisition Bill

Veteran social activist Anna Hazare Monday launched stir at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi against the NDA Governmment’s Ordinance on Land Acquisition Bill .
Sitting in protest , Anna Hazare termed the NDA Government’s Land Bill as anti-farmer and undemocratic. The new law wouild let Government to grab land , he said adding he would launch a country wide mass movement against NDA Government’s move.
Slamming the Union Government , he said that how can any body take away land without the consent of the farmers.
Stating that the movement is apolitical, Hazare said that support of political party is welcome, but no political activists would be allowed to take the stage during the sit on dharana.
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to meet Hazare in the afternoon .
A group of farmers who began marching from Palwal in Haryana on Friday will join Hazare at the venue tomorrow , Tuesday to demand withdrawal of amendments to the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. Ekta Parishad, who organized the march, said the group has already reached Badkal in Faridabad.

While the government claimed that the amendments are aimed at speeding up development projects, Hazare has condemned the move saying it will end up benefitting corporates. Activists Rajendra Singh, Aruna Roy, Medha Patekar, P V Rajagopalan and former RSS ideologue K Govindacharya are also likely to join Hazare.
