AP Govt. Announces Enhanced Financial Rewards To 35th National Games Medalists

In a belated but welcome move theAndhra Pradesh Government announced a substantial enhancement in the financial rewards to medallists who brought fame in the 35th National Games, which were held recently in Kerala.

According to Sports Minister, K Atchennaidu , the medallist will now receive Rs seven lakh, five lakh andthree lakh as against the existing Rs 3 lakh, Rs two lakhand Rs one lakh for the gold, silver and bronze medal winners,

Total 16 Medals were bagged by the sports persons in five disciplines in the 35th National Games held this year.

Andhra Pradesh athletes had an overall tally of 16 medalsfrom five disciplines. They included seven gold, threesilver and six bronze medals. Chief Minister, N ChandrababuNaidu will give away the cash incentives that are worth Rs80 lakh at a separate function later
