17 April, Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh government has decided to complete the waiver of crop loans in 72 hours in capital region Thullur. The maximum upper ceiling for crop loan waiver is Rs 1.5 lakh.

According to an estimate, the total outstanding crop loan in the region is Rs 231 crore availed by about 10,000 farmers, out of which Rs 68 crore has been waived. The notified patta land is 37,000 acres of which 33,000 acres have been pooled so far.

Delay in implementing crop loan waiver had cast doubt among land owners, some of them still reluctant to sign the agreements in Form 9.14 and receive the annuity from the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).

Allaying the concerns of land owners over allotment of developed plots, Minister for Municipal Administration P. Narayana said all land owners would get developed plots in their respective villages.

The Minister reiterated that the State government would acquire those lands which have not been pooled, through Land Acquisition.
