Assam Govt. Lodges Strong Protest Over Brutal Killing Of Alleged Rapist in Dimapur

The Assam government has lodged strong protest to Nagaland government over the killing of an alleged rape accused in Dimapur.

State Home Commissioner L S Changsan said , the Assam government demanded that guilty should be punished and life and property of people of Assam living in Nagaland should be protected .

Ms. Changsan said that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has also written to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over this issue.

Meanwhile, protest continues at several places including Guwahati against the barbaric killing of the alleged rapist. Several organizations have demanded action against culprits.

The family members of the deceased who was a native of Karimganj district in Barak valley also demanded justice. Talking to a tv channel, one of the family members of the deceased ruled out the rape allegation.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also said that nobody should be allowed to take law into their own hands and culprits should be punished. Asom Gana Parishad, BJP, AIUDF and civil society organizations have also condemned the incident. Assam unit of the BJP demanded CBI inquiry into the incident.
