Assam Govt. Requests Center To Conduct CBI Probe Into All Chit Fund Scam Cases

Assam government has requested the Centre to constitute CBI probe into the all chit fund related cases registered in the state.

Confirming this, Assam Home Commissioner L S Changsan said that state government has written to the Centre following Gauhati High Court order. Ms. Changsan said that the details of cases have been submitted for further investigation.

There are over 200 such cases involving at least 179 chit fund companies and Non-Banking Financial Companies.

The premier agency is investigating two cases in Assam related to chit fund companies.

The CBI has already questioned several persons of Assam in connection with Saradha chit fund case and also conducted multiple raids.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has started investigation in Assam following a registration of a case under Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Rose Valley Group of Companies.
